The 2025 NYS Boys' 18U Junior Amateur Championship field is full and the tentative waitlist has been published. Below you'll find the waitlist order - by USGA Handicap Index at entry deadline - and frequently asked questions. Players may be selected from the waitlist due to their previous results in tournaments per their playing resume.
THE PROCESS
The first player on the waitlist is sent an invitation by email - to both the player and parent - when a player in the field withdraws. It is expected that a decision will be sent in return without delay. If one is not, the NYSGA will text the player/parent and the invitation will be revoked shortly after if no response is given.
The waitlist will be updated every time a player in the field withdraws and a response to the invitation is sent by #1 below.
WHAT ARE MY CHANCES?
We expect a minimum of five (5) players on the waitlist will be contacted with an invitation to play - but historical data shows that there are typically 10+ withdrawals annually.
If you plan on being available at McGregor Links in case there's a last minute withdrawal, please email champs@nysga.org to let the NYSGA know your plans and so you can receive instructions on how this process is managed.
PLAYERS WHO PLAN ON PLAYING IF INVITED
There is nothing we require from you at this time, except to check your email.
PLAYERS DECIDE TO NOT PLAY IF INVITED
If you want to be removed from this list, please email champs@nysga.org - this saves NYSGA staff important time and gives waitlisted players the true picture of where they stand.
